TOURNAMENT PARTICIPATION

Only members with official USGA handicaps will be allowed to participate in tournaments. No member will be prohibited from participating in tournament play if she has an official USGA handicap. However, the maximum allowable handicap for tournament-scoring purposes will be a course handicap of 36 unless specifically stated otherwise in the OHWGA Handbook.

Tournaments are scheduled each week and played on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Saturdays or Sundays.

In order to be eligible to participate in any tournament, players must sign up for play on the posted pairing sheet, and must be paired by the Pairing Committee Member responsible for that tournament.  Individuals posting tournaments scores without having been paired as described above will be disqualified.

You may not play the same tournament more than once. For instance, if you signed up to play a tournament on a Saturday and you had a difficult round, you may not drop out of the tournament for Saturday and try it again on Sunday.

On the day of play of the tournament, write your name on the tournament sheet, which is posted on the bulletin board in the hallway near the restroom. You must write in your name before you begin to play. Once you start to play, you cannot write in your name on the tournament sheet. If you decide to withdraw from the tournament, you can cross your name off the sheet. If you’re having a bad day on the course, don’t feel you have to stay in the tournament, just enjoy the round!
