As you approach the Pro Shop at Oak Hills, you will see the large bulletin board outside the Pro shop door. There you will find notices, and, most importantly, Pairing sign-up sheets for each day that the tournament is being run. Tournaments are scheduled each week, (although some run for two consecutive weeks) and are played on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Saturdays, or Sundays. All the various tournament formats are described in the handbook and this website.

Simply write your name, phone number, and walking or riding preference on the Pairings sign-up sheet for the day which you intend to play. You may sign up to be included in the pairings, even if you do not want to participate in the tournament. This usually happens when a new member has not yet established a handicap, but would like to be paired with a group. Tournaments that involve partners may not have space for a player who doesn't want to play in that week's tournament.

For both weekday and weekend tournaments, pairing sheets will be picked up 10 days prior to pairing. The pairings committee member will group the foursomes and assign a captain. Every effort will be made to put riders with riders and walkers with walkers; however, based on the preferences, this is not always possible.

The captain will arrange for a tee time using either phone (203) 604-1273, on-line (www.oakhillsgc.com) or the kiosk in the Pro Shop.  Tee times may be made 7 days in advance of the day of play, as early as 5:30 a.m. for phone and kiosk reservations, and 7:00 a.m for on-line reservations.  When selecting a tee time, the system will show available times for 90 minutes before and 90 minutes after the requested time.  The captains will book the time and then notify the other members of the pairing.

Note:  There is a $2 charge per golfer for reservations made by phone and on-line, but not for kiosk use.  If the captain elects to incur this charge, it is at her own expense unless the members of her foursome agree to it. 

Also note that while non-resident captains may make reservations for tee times 7 days in advance, they may not utilize the system until after 12:00 noon.  Pairers should bear this in mind when selecting captains.
